11th Head Coach in Centerville XC History Named

Assistant Coach Kevin Walsh named new harrier coach for 2011. 
Walsh, a feared high school runner, from the famed catholic Delbarton Academy in New Jersey, was named the new coach in January 2011.  The 46 year old Walsh, has been tearing up the road circuit across the United States the past 20 years.  Running Boston and New York marathons to couple with his 20+ marathons to date.   Walsh's training methodology is deep rooted with Lydiard and Daniels base and from personal experience.  His first goal is to continue the tradition at Centerville.  Stating, "The running tradition is remarkable and more importantly the athletic tradition at Centerville.  We will concentrate on winning the GWOC every year to start the month of champions."  Centerville has won the last six GWOC xc meets and won it seven of the eleven years it has been held.  Centerville returns a deep young team that is ranked preseason top 10 in the state of Ohio on paper.

Kevin has been an assistant the past 6 years  for the high school cross country programs.  Also coached middle school track distance at Centerville and high school track in the 2010 season.  Walsh also coached Miamisburg Middle School girls track too.  He currently teaches math at Miamisburg High School.  He is married to Sherry Walsh, also a great runner, they live in Centerville and have two daughters that attend Centerville elementary schools.
